One of the hottest trends in housing.
The idea of a green home is exciting when our choices lead to reduced energy costs and consumption and a smaller carbon footprint. Making choices that lead to green living that are affordable and accessible can be overwhelming.
So where do we start?
To make lasting change, it is usually best to start small. At HomeMakers, we have always looked for ways to recycle, reuse, and reduce on the job site. We believe in leaving the smallest footprint possible by building smaller homes in urban areas with smart designs to maximize living space and minimze the effect on our environment.
We look at the big picture with reverence for our planet:
We have many practices that have a big effect, such as; using vendors that promote sustainability, recycling or returning all unused materials, and preserving healthy existing trees. Other building practices include using the best technology for sealing doors and windows, excellent insulation to minimize heating and cooling costs, and installing 30 year composite roofs and energy efficient furnaces.
It's simple. The decision is up to you.
Being green doesn't stop with our practices. As a buyer, you have many choices in floor coverings, counter tops, appliances, and paint. How green do you want your home to be?
